VeriSieve ("the app," "we," "our") is a social media aggregator and fact-checking tool for iOS. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.
VeriSieve does not have its own login system and does not collect your social media passwords. When you connect a platform (X/Twitter, BlueSky, Instagram, Reddit, Facebook, TikTok), you sign in through that platform's own website inside the app's built-in browser, exactly as you would in Safari or Chrome. Your credentials go directly to that platform, not to us. The app reads publicly-available content and your own account's activity (posts, notifications) from the session you're already logged into, in order to display it back to you in one place.
To make the app fast and usable offline, VeriSieve caches the following locally, on your device only:
None of this is uploaded to any server we operate. Deleting the app removes this data. It never leaves your device except as described in the next section.
When you tap "Fact Check" on a post, the text of that specific post is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI API for analysis, and the result is shown back to you. This only happens when you explicitly request a fact-check for a specific post — it does not happen automatically or in the background. See Anthropic's privacy policy for how they handle data sent to their API.
Some Twitter/X features may be served through a third-party data provider (TwitterAPI.io) in addition to your own logged-in session. Only the specific request needed (e.g., a search query or post lookup) is sent — no additional personal information beyond what's necessary for that request.
Your locally-cached data stays on your device until you delete it (via the app's settings, or by deleting the app entirely). We don't retain a copy anywhere else, because we don't operate a server that would store one.
VeriSieve is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app requires connecting to third-party social platforms that have their own age requirements.
VeriSieve may introduce an optional backend service in the future (for example, to share fact-check results across users more efficiently). If that happens, this policy will be updated before that change ships, and it will be described here in plain language.
If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
